Russ Sharer - He never started a record with just the on/off switch, he always started with the pot all the way down, flipped the switch, then shot the volume up in order to avoid any "thump" or "cue scratch" sound from going over the air. Russ was a good mentor for me. I was lucky enough to be invited to his wedding a couple years later, quite possibly the fanciest one I've ever attended. He married well, that's for sure.[b]
