Dinner at Cool Cat Cafe Cool Cat Cafe is a restaurant on Broad St. where the western end of Orcutt Rd. dead ends in SLO.
Although Debbie and Mary were not able to join us, Bryan & Dianne, Mark & Jana, Keith & Michelle, Paula, Les, Mark, Chuck and Frank managed to take over the joint.
We talked about 1st class licenses (provisional and full), code tests, 3rd phone licenses and the broadcast endorsement portion of the FCC test, and the FCC offices on Long Beach Blvd where many of us took our tests.
We ended up closing the place and eventually got asked to leave.
Once outside, we hung out for a while--reminiscing about AM broadcast towers, climbing and electrocution risks, making phone calls around the world, reconnecting disabled ringers in the booths of the red brick dorms--basically stuff that was the result of our own personal pursuits of Learn By Doing.
We decided to meet later at Spike's on Higuera.
